Working for ESOS

Working for ESOS

Fun

The culture is one of working hard and playing hard – it might be football, body balance classes, a charity fun run or meeting down the pub after work but there is always something going on.

The employees dress down on a Friday and in return for this privilege they participate in a Payroll Giving scheme that means £1 per week goes to the current named charity. Usually the named charity is a local one and other fund-raising activities are scheduled throughout the year to supplement the ‘dress down’ contribution.

There is also the Annual ESOS Charity Fundraiser where ESOS employees and their families are invited to enjoy a day of fun-filled activities in order to raise money for charity. The event usually boasts dodge ‘ems, huge inflatables of all sorts and there is always music and food to keep everyone going!! Local charities are invited to set up stalls and these might range from skittles to canoe rides to guess the weight on the cake.

Work

There is an open culture that encourages the sharing of ideas and cooperation with other teams in the organisation. There is an expectation that customers and work colleagues will be treated with respect at all times, and a solutions-driven attitude is fostered. The preferred response to something new is to think first ‘How can we best do this?’ rather than ‘We can’t do that!’

Professional and Personal Development

Individuals are supported and encouraged to gain professional qualifications and personal successes are applauded and celebrated. There is a significant commitment to team training as well as personal development.

Policy Statements

ESOS is an equal opportunities employer and everyone (applicants, employees, suppliers, customers, visitors, stockholders, colleagues) is treated fairly and without prejudice or discrimination for any reason whatsoever.

The dress code is professional and employees are asked to dress appropriately for the work they perform, especially when they are representing the business with customers or other guests, except on Fridays when the dress is casual.

ESOS is committed to protecting the environment and encourages employees to THINK before they ACT on all things affecting the environment, i.e., turning off lights when leaving the room, turning off computers and printers at night, recycling paper and toner cartridges, printing only when necessary, conducting an appointment over the phone or scheduling a video call rather than travelling by car, etc.

The health and safety of employees and visitors to ESOS premises is of the utmost concern to the ESOS Board and the existing policies and practices adhere to all prevailing legislation.
